Sometimes I finish a painting that I loved making, yet when I see the finish product, I don’t love it. I may leave for as long as two-years. This one was originally created 1.5-years ago. Looking at it with fresh eyes, I knew I loved that portion of her face and framed it with charcoal stick and then went to town with gesso, before applying the colors with a palette knife. Turned out to be my favorite piece so far this year.
