Original mixed media (acrylic, collage, inks and pastels0 painting. Professionally framed is custom frame. Created before its companion piece, Are You Kidding Me? this piece started as an exercise of finding something in a painted and gessoed over canvas to begin a portrait. I happened to find an eye in profile and went from there. Because I have a beautiful redheaded daughter, I chose to go that route. I wanted something more abstract and have always admired the grace in the long-necked Modigliani portraits and this is the end product. I feel her dress could be a beautiful Italian brocade and that and the neck make her feel like a period piece to me. Sold as a diptych or separately. If both pieces are purchased as a set, a discount will be applied.
